George Floyd Protest To Be Held In North Wales Sunday
Organizers said the demonstration will be peaceful. They are attempting to get local police and the fire department to participate.

NORTH WALES, PA — A demonstration protesting the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis will be held in North Wales on Sunday at noon.
The event will take place at Weingartner Park, located at Second and Summit streets. Organizers emphasized that the demonstration will be peaceful.
More than 300 protesters are expected, including residents, business owners, and elected officials.

Organizers said they've invited local police and the fire department to participate, but it's not clear if they will. They said Mayor Gregory D'Angelo will be in attendance.

"A major difference between this movement and others in the past is the activity in small towns," organizer Steve McGlynn said. "Even if it’s a handful of residents showing support, this shows that the movement is spreading and folks are eager for change."
Several related peaceful protests have occurred around the suburbs in recent days, including Norristown and West Chester, as well as Phoenixville and Lansdale.
