Local man Josh Camson has announced his candidacy to challenge State Rep. Marcy Toepel (R) in the 147th District.

HARLEYSVILLE, PA — Local man Josh Camson has announced his candidacy to challenge State Rep. Marcy Toepel (R) in the 147th District.

Camson, of Harleysville, a criminal defense lawyer and a local small business owner, will run as a Democrat.

“I fight for people every day in court, and I plan to fight just as hard for the 147th," Camson said in a statement on Wednesday. "It’s time we stop paying people to go to Harrisburg and sit around. We need to bring hard work and dedication back to the legislature. Our government is not doing enough to end the opioid crisis, make our schools the best in the country, or future-proof Pennsylvania’s economy.”
