Lansdale/Doylestown SEPTA Changes Coming For Hatfield Road Closure

SEPTA's work to improve a grade crossing in Hatfield will lead to key service changes next weekend.

HATFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — SEPTA will improve a grade crossing of its tracks on the Lansdale/Doylestown line in Hatfield Township later this week into next week, leading to road closures and service changes.

The work will take place on Walnut Street from Friday, April 12 at 9 a.m. through Monday, April 15 at 6 p.m.

Crews will remove the existing crossing surface, as well as worn ties and rails along the roadway, and install new ties and rails.

The road will also be milled and paved leading upt ot he crossing, providing a smoother ride on the tracks, SEPTA said.

Walnut will be closed from Cowpath Road to Main Street for the duration of the project, with local access only. All traffic will be detoured between Montgomery Street and Garden Road.

The detour will take motorists to Cowpath Road, Broad Street, and West Seventh Street.

SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown line will operate as normal on Friday and Monday, but will see service changes over the weekend. The train will run from Lansdale to Center City, with shuttle buses taking riders from Lansdale to Doylestown.

Shuttle bus service will not stop at Del Val, New Britain, Colmar, or 9th Street stations over the weekend.
