Hatfield Woman Stabbed Several Times In Attempted Murder: Cops

Breaking: The suspect fled from the scene, running down Bethlehem Pike unclothed and covered in blood before he was arrested, police said.

HATFIELD, PA — A Hatfield man has been arrested for attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times on Tuesday night and then fleeing the scene, police said.

The incident occurred at about 6:01 p.m. on the 700 block of Bethlehem Pike in the township, according to authorities.

John Roman, aged 60, lived with his 55-year-old girlfriend at that residence, police said. After stabbing her several times, Roman ran naked and covered in blood down Bethlehem Pike. When police caught up with him, he struggled with officers but was subdued and taken into custody.

The victim was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital and remains there in critical condition.

In addition to attempted murder, Roman has been charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, and related counts, police said.

Bail was set at $500,000. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 14 before Judge Andrea Duffy.
