Historic Documentary On North Penn Area To Be Shown

A local historian traced the history of the area from pre-colonial times to the late 80's.

LANSDALE, PA -- Did you know there was a documentary created about the North Penn Area?

A local historian once traced the history of the area from pre-colonial times to the late 80’s, and that film will be shown at North Penn High School as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.

North Penn School District students, staff, alumni and community members of the North Penn area past and present are welcome to join.

The documentary “A North Penn Portrait” was made by local historian John L. Ruth and his son Jay, a cinematographer.

In celebration of the North Penn School District’s 50th Anniversary, come watch the growth of the small boroughs and townships once the North Penn Railroad cut its way through the center of what would become the North Penn area.

On February 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. the North Penn School District and the Lansdale Historical Society will present highlights from the film, and imagery of North Penn schools throughout the years.

The Lansdale Historical Society will also present its extremely popular “Now You See It, Now You Don’t” program which highlights prominent buildings in the area that have been lost in time.

The event will be held in the high school auditorium.

The school is located at 1340 Valley Forge Road in Lansdale.
