Holocaust Survivor To Share Story of Survival In Lansdale

Ilse Lindemeyer survived the Holocaust. Now she's coming to Lansdale.

LANSDALE, PA -- Walton Farm Elementary, through a generous grant from the North Penn Educational Foundation, has the wonderful opportunity to host Ilse Lindemeyer, a Holocaust survivor and author, who will be sharing her incredible story of heartache and hope on April 6, 2016 at 7:00 pm.

She will also answer questions during the evening. This amazing lady, with the help of a representative from the Holocaust Museum in Philadelphia, tells her stories in a way that makes you feel as if you were there and showcases the horrors, but also the love and humanity of others in a way that will make you laugh, cry, and feel redemption of the human spirit.

"This is an important story to be shared but is definitely for mature audiences," said event organizers. "Please consider the age of your child and the ability of your child to process the content they will hear, which is uncomfortable at times…but also the fact that these survivors are of an advanced age and this opportunity is one that they may not have again in their lifetime. To that end, we’d suggest those in attendance be approximately 12 and over and that you discuss the holocaust with them in advance of this evening."

Last year, this event was also hosted for the Walton Farm community but due to the age of Ilse and the importance of this story, particularly in the atmosphere of division currently swallowing the political process, organizers decided to open the guest list to include other schools in the district. Light refreshments will also be served, and a free will offering will be held with proceeds going to The Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center in Philadelphia.
