Today I am grateful for honest people. Last night after a great dinner at our house, with a surprise visit from one of our sons, we decided to take our rental dog, Her Majesty Snuffleauffagus Princess Ziggy to Dairy Queen with us. Of course, I took the camera, but nothing else except keys.
She liked the car ride and empty cone we got her, although she was distracted by a full chocolate one that someone dropped in the grass. She wanted that one much more. I’ve give dogs ice cream before and been sorry. Not only do they get gas, but often the squirts along with it. No thanks on both counts.

So an empty cone it was, with me snapping pictures with my left hand hoping for the best. I shoved the camera in my pocket so I could eat my small sundae and when we were finished we lumbered Her Majesty to the car, hoisted her in and headed for home.
I wanted to download the pictures right away to see what I managed to capture and reached into my pocket. Empty. Empty! “Did I put the camera on the kitchen counter?” I asked my husband. He couldn’t find it. “We’ll have to go back,” I was so upset. We cannot afford a new camera and I need to have a camera. I love this one anyway because it’s the size of a deck of cards and I can take it anywhere.

“It probably dropped out of my pocket and fell in the grass when I got up,” I said. “If it had fallen out when I got in the car I would have heard it.” My husband has been my husband for a long time, so he said nothing. Smart man.
He went into the Dairy Queen and soon walked out with the camera. Thank God and thank you to the honest person who turned it in. Otherwise how could I have shared these new pictures of our rental dog, Her Majesty Snuffleauffagus Princess Ziggy!
