Honoring Coach, North Penn Wrestling Team Donates To Brain Tumor Center
The donation is in honor of the wife of the North Penn wrestling coach, who was lost to brain cancer last April.

LANSDALE, PA – The North Penn High School (NPHS) Wrestling Team will present a generous donation to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Hospital on Friday, February 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the Wrestling Room at North Penn High School, in honor and memory of Coach Robert Shettsline’s wife, Christine Shettsline.
After Coach Shettsline lost his wife to brain cancer last April, he felt that it was his duty to raise awareness and funds for Duke University Hospital’s brain tumor center. After expressing this idea to the North Penn Wrestling Parents Club, the support was overwhelming and the parents took over from there.
The NPHS Wrestling Team created “Takedown Cancer” T-Shirts to be worn in support of the team at their title league match against Pennridge, which NPHS won 34-30. Wrestlers sold these T-Shirts at the high school during lunches, raising over $1,500. The North Penn Wrestling Youth Club joined the team in this charity effort and made a generous donation of $1,350 to the cause.
