How to Dispose of Your Christmas Tree in Lansdale

LANSDALE, PA -- Christmas has come and gone, and it's time to start thinking about disposing of that drying-out Christmas tree.

The between time between Christmas and New Years is when most Christmas Tree fires happen, fire officials said.

Here's what local municipalities have to say:

Borough of Lansdale

Lansdale has not yet announced a Christmas tree curbside pickup date, although pickup has traditionally been the first Saturday in January, which this year would be January 7. Stay tuned for updates and confirmation.

Montgomery Township

The Montgomery Township Public Works Department is accepting Christmas trees for recycling at the William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae. The park is located on 1147 Kenas Road in North Wales. Questions can be directed to 215-393-6900.

Towamencin Township

The Public Works Department will be picking up trees starting the first week in January and continue for two weeks. Residents are asked to put trees curbside and public works will randomly pick them up for recycling.

Hatfield Township

Hatfield Township does not do curbside pick-up. Residents can drop Christmas trees off at the Chestnut Street drop-off behind the Hatfield Township Police Department. Contact the township at 215-855-0900 with any questions.

Borough of Hatfield

Public Works will pick up Christmas trees curbside on the first two Mondays of January 2017.
