How Safe Are We? Lower Salford, Bordering Lansdale, Named America's 24th Safest City
A new ranking by Safewise measures the top 100 safest towns in the United States. See just how safe you are in Lansdale.

Lower Salford Township, just next to Lansdale, has been named the 24th safest city in America, according to a new list released by Safewise, a home security business.
The list analyzes a variety of factors being implemented by towns around America trying to stay safe. All statistics come from the most recent FBI crime information crossed with an overview of each city’s public safety, public health, and educational information.

“In between Philadelphia and Allentown, Lower Salford is steeped in Pennsylvania Dutch traditions like the annual Apple Butter Frolic,” the write-up of the township says. “Apart from a strong sense of community identity, the city police also work to ensure safety with services like free security surveys of homes and businesses.”
Lower Salford’s violent crimes per 1,000 is listed at 0.33, and property crimes per 1,000 is 4.11.

Four other Pennsylvania towns made the list, including Upper Providence Township (2), South Park Township (5), Whitehall (19), and Franklin Park (21).
The list named Hibbing, Minnesota as the safest city in America, citing its 0.25 violent crimes per 1,000 rate.
