Hydrant Flushing Planned In Lansdale, Towamencin, Hatfield

Residents may notice discolored water and low water pressure during flushing.

LANSDALE, PA — Fire hydrant flushing is planned around the greater Lansdale area in the coming weeks, the North Penn Water Authority announced.

The annual flushing and inspections will be begin on March 29 and continue for various communities around the are through late May.

Flushing helps maintain water quality, remove sediment and other deposits that build up in pipes, and keep infrastructure running smoothly.

Work is typically done between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. or 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., to avoid dinnertime.

Residents may notice discolored water and low water pressure during flushing. If water is discolored, run it for about 10 minutes to clear it.
