A renown jazz singer will perform at Gwynedd Mercy University to celebrate Black History Month.

A renown jazz singer will perform at Gwynedd Mercy University to celebrate Black History Month, the school anounced.

Lauren Lark will play at the Julia Ball Auditorium on Friday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Lark, whose musical style is reminiscent of Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald, is known for bringing the sounds of the 1940s and 1950s into the 21st Century.

According to her biography, Lark is a Philadelphia native and has performed with the National Grammy Choir in Los Angeles, and with hip-hop artists on tour in Japan. She has also performed at the Cape May Jazz Festival, the Coltrane Jazz Festival, Welcome America Parade, the Rehoboth Beach Autumn Jazz Festival, and the Swedesboro Jazz Festival.

Gwynedd Mercy is located on Sumneytown Pike between routes 309 and 202 in Gwynedd Valley.
