JDog Junk Removal To Employ Veterans, North Penn VFW To Host Ribbon Cutting

A local entreprenuer is expanding her business movement to help employ area veterans.

GLENSIDE, PA. – JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, a rapidly growing national company on a mission to offer business ownership opportunities to veterans and their family members, is now servicing the Montgomery County area, the company announced in a press release.

JDog franchisees provide junk removal and hauling services to both residential and commercial customers, delivering service the military way: with respect, integrity and trust.

The new JDog will service Glenside and the surrounding Montgomery County area, and is owned by Glenside resident Stacey Sonneborn Fitzpatrick. The military has been a major part of Stacey’s life- her father served in the Army Reserve for 32 years and her grandfather served as a Marine in World War II.

“I wanted to own a business that embraced the military ethos that I believe in, as well as one that would give veterans the opportunity to work together to make an impact within our community,” Fitzpatrick said in a press release. “Through JDog, I have the chance to provide the Montgomery County area with a valuable service that is built upon a strong set of military values.”

The franchise is the ninth JDog location in Pennsylvania. Stacey hopes to provide local veterans with jobs in the coming years as her business expands in the area. A grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the North Penn VFW in Glenside, located at 2519 Jenkintown Rd.

JDog awards franchises exclusively to military veterans and their family members. Franchise owners operate easily recognizable, camouflage vehicles and trailers and wear military-style uniforms. JDog recycles and repurposes a substantial amount of the material they pick up. The Philadelphia-based company works closely with local and national organizations like Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity, as well as local schools, churches and hospitals to donate useful items to those in need.

“The JDog team is supported by an experienced board of advisors, including decorated military officers and business professionals, who understand the unique attributes and qualifications of veterans,” said Jerry Flanagan, founder of JDog. “Every operations member of the JDog team has served our country, and now we’re banding together to serve their local communities.”
