Lansdale Dairy Facility Gets $83K Investment From State
Lansdale's Numa Foods facility has received a major boost from the state that officials hope will exponentially improve their productivity.

LANSDALE, PA — A dairy company with operations in Lansdale has received significant funding from the state to support and expand its operations.
Numa Foods, which has a facility in the borough, is the recipient of $83,070 from the state Department of Agriculture's PA Dairy Investment Program.
The funding will be used towards research and development, organic transition, equipment upgrades, marketing grants, and more.

"I am happy to see a local farm be presented with funding that will not only allow for a higher productivity rate, but one that is also more efficient,” State Sen. Bob Mensch (R-147) said in a statement. "This grant to Numa Foods LLC is key for continuous success for the business and the economy as a whole.
Among the equipment upgrades planned for Numa are several pieces of milk processing equipment, including two 80-quart mixers, a cutting machine, a pouch filler machine, a packaging machine, and two sugar boiling systems, according to Mensch's office.

The upgrades will vastly improve the company's efficiency, allowing them to produce 22,500 pieces of their milk-based nougat snacks per hour, estimates indicate. They previously produced pieces at a 4,500 piece-per-hour clip.
