Lansdale Election Results: Dems Sweep Mayor, School Directors
Breaking: Election results in Montgomery County are beginning to trickle in. Democrat Garry Herbert Jr. has won the Lansdale Mayor's race.

LANSDALE, PA — Election results in Montgomery County are in. Democrat Garry Herbert Jr. has unofficially won the Lansdale Mayor's race, with all nine borough precincts reporting just before 9:40 p.m.
And Democrats have also swept the North Penn School Director's race, winning all four available seats.
Herbert defeated incumbent Republican Mayor G. Andrew Szekely, who has been in office since Jan. 2014. Herbert earned 53.31 percent of the vote to Szekely's 46.62 percent. A total of 2,705 votes for Lansdale's next mayor were cast.

The new mayor is a native of upstate New York and a graduate of SUNY Oswego and Ithaca College, where he received as Master's of Science in Strategic Communications.
During the campaign, Herbert touted his experience in issues ranging from environmental protection, consumer rights and protection, reform for higher education and government, and small business assistance.

In the School Director race, Democrats Tina Stoll (14.22 percent), Christian Fusco (14.14 percent), Mark Warren (13.69 percent), and Jonathan Kassa (13.57 percent) defeated the four Republican challengers by a clear margin.
Other Lansdale election night results:
Democrat Mary Fuller was elected to Ward 1 council.
Republican Thomas E. Wok, who ran unopposed, was elected to Ward 2.
Democrats Carrie Hawkins Charlton and Leon Angelichio were elected in Ward 3 over Republican Cory Brown.
