Lansdale Man Convicted After Threatening Father, Cops
Andrew Lawrence Cooper's mother warned police that he was armed with "several firearms of various calibers."

LANSDALE, PA -- A Lansdale man who threatened to shoot police during a domestic dispute has been convicted.
Andrew Lawrence Cooper, 27, will now await sentencing.
Police arrived at the home of Andrew Lawrence Cooper, 27, at about 6:11 a.m. on July 24 after his mother reported he was holding her husband captive, according to Lansdale Police Department Sergeant Alex Kromdyk.

Cooper lives in the house on the 400 block of W. Mt. Vernon Street with his parents.
Cooper’s mother said her son was armed with “several firearms of various calibers” and that he would shoot any arriving police officers.

She also said that more weapons were placed strategically throughout the house.
After speaking with the mother, “police decided time was of the essence,” Kromdyk said in a press release.
They created a ruse which brought Cooper outside of the home, and he was arrested without further incident.
Several assault rifles, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and other weapons were seized when a search warrant was served.
