Lansdale Man Steals $600 And 130 Packs Of Cigarettes But Forgets Tablet: Report

The alleged thief left behind his tablet computer which led to police discovering his identity.

A Lansdale man allegedly stole $600 and around 130 packs of cigarettes from a grocery store but left behind his tablet computer, leading authorities to discover his identity, according to The Reporter.

Maxwell Joseph Liebsch, 18, allegedly entered the Corner Masala near 500 North Cannon Avenue sometime in the evening of July 7, the report states, and used the light on his tablet to see by in the store.

Police recognized Liebsch from ”previous encounters” in surveillance video and executed a search warrant at his house, the report states.

His mother answered the door and said her tablet was missing, and when police went to Liebsch’s room and woke him up, they found bags of cigarettes on the floor, according to the report.

He later confessed to the burglary and his preliminary hearing is set for July 23, the report states.
