Lansdale Nurse Allegedly Funded Florida Vacation With Money From Dead Patient: Cops

One suspect was taken into custody at Philadelphia International Airport as she left the plane. But another is at large.

A Lansdale Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) allegedly funded a vacation to Miami with money stolen from a deceased patient at a local nursing home, according to Lansdale police.

Syreeta Nicole Jones, 30, of Farson Street in Philadelphia, was arrested on November 1 when returning to Philadelphia from her Miami vacation, according to police.

Police are still seeking another suspect Eugene Hudnell, 39, in the thefts.

On May 27, Jones allegedly stole a check from one victim at Elm Terrace Gardens Nursing Home, police said, and then wrote it out for $2,450 to Hudnell.

On October 19, Jones made four transactions using a recently deceased resident of the nursing home’s credit card, including paying her phone bill and booking her Florida vacation, police said.

The total amount spent in these transactions was $1,500, according to police.

Police said that Jones was traveling with a male companion but did not say if that companion was Hudnell.
