July 1 Set As Opening Date For Lansdale Borough Pools
Several new policies are in place, including no guests, and strict capacity limits, and various social distancing measures.
LANSDALE, PA — Lansdale will reopen the Whites Road and Fourth Street pools on July 1, borough council determined during a council meeting on Wednesday evening. Assuming things go according to plan, Montgomery County will be in the green phase of coronavirus mitigation by that point, with a date of June 26 targeted.
"The Borough recognizes that after being inside and isolated from neighbors and friends, heading back to the pools will offer Lansdale families a sense of normalcy," officials said in a statement Thursday.
Several new policies will be in place to help limit the spread of the virus and protect public health. Notably, no guests will be permitted, strict capacity limits will be enforced, and there will be numerous social distancing measures.

Residents can purchase memberships online beginning on Monday, June 22. No new non-resident memberships will be sold, nor will any daily admission passes. Previous non-resident members may purchase memberships. All transactions must be completed online, and cannot be completed at the pool itself.

Face coverings will be required when entering the complex, and walking anywhere within it other than to and from the pool. You must also wear a mask if you are sitting with non-family members.
Furthermore, no pool toys or chairs will be provided, and residents should bring their own.
A capacity of 400 members will be allowed in each pool.
The pools will be open from noon to 8 p.m. through Aug. 14, and noon through 7 p.m. from Aug. 15 through Sept. 7.
The borough said they will wait until a week after first opening to re-evaluate some policies. It's possible that they will provide designated lap swim hours before opening. It's also possible that overcrowding could lead to a requirement that guests pre-register each day for daily time slots.
