Lansdale Police Investigating Multiple Counterfeit Money Incidents

Lansdale Borough Police said they are investigating two incidents that happened in February involving the use of counterfeit money.

Local law enforcement agencies are warning area businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit money.

The warning comes after of a rash of incidents in which counterfeit bills have been used at stores and restaurants in Montgomery and Chester counties.

Lansdale Borough Police said they are investigating two incidents that happened in February involving the use of counterfeit money at two different businesses in Lansdale. The same suspect is involved in both incidents, according to police.

Lansdale Police is one of several law enforcement agencies in Montgomery and Chester County that are investigating the incidents.

“These incidents appear to be perpetrated by the same individuals,” Lansdale Police said.

Police advise business owners to be cognizant during large cash transactions.

“If any cash transaction appears suspicious in any way, please call 9-1-1. If a suspect flees the store before police arrival, we ask that business employees take notice of any vehicles the suspects travel in. Please do not confront any suspects,” police said.
