Lansdale Pride Walk Set For Sunday

There will be two separate routes with staggered departure times to ensure social distancing, organizers said.

LANSDALE, PA — The annual Lansdale Pride Walk is just days away, with the 2020 march set for Sunday, June 28 at noon.

The Walk will take place on two separate routes this year in order to promote social distancing and prevent the transmission of coronavirus. Each route will be staggered into groups that leave about a minute apart, and each walk will have its own Grand Marshall, organizers said.

One route will meet at Madison Street near the Railroad Plaza, loop around Wood Street and then proceed down Main Street to Memorial Park.

While the marches will begin at noon, it is suggested that groups gather at designated spots at 11:30 a.m.

At least four volunteer crossing guards will be on hand to manage traffic.

Any proceeds from the event, including shirt sales, go to The Rainbow Room, a Doylestown-based youth center that supports the young LGBTQ+ community. Pride Walk shirts will be for sale at Round Guys, a sponsor of the event, starting at 11 a.m.

Members of the Rainbow Room will help lead the walk this weekend, organizers said.

Anyone who wishes to donate or lend supplies to the event can drop supplies off at Memorial Park between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
