The borough said they are working with North Penn School District on establishing the best alternate route for the children while the repairs are underway.
The school district reiterated that the decision was made by the borough, and all concerns and questions regarding the closure should be directed towards the borough, not the school district.

Students are being told to continue to Knapp Road, and to use the sidewalk, bridge, and crosswalk there to get to school. Parents are concerned the sidewalks on Knapp Road are not safe for young children.
It's not yet clear if the bridge will need to be fully replaced, or if it can be repaired.
The borough characterized the closure as being done out of an "abundance of caution."
