Lansdale Woman Among 92 Selected To Decorate White House Christmas Tree: Report
The 77-year-old local got to decorate an extra tree this year. But not just any tree.

LANSDALE, PA - One Lansdale resident got the chance to decorate an extra tree this year.
Margie Booz, 77, was one of 92 Americans selected to help decorate the White House’s official Christmas tree, according to a report.
“It was very interesting. A tree for the nation. Everyone can go in and see it,” Booz said, according to The Intelligencer.

It was especially unique occassion for Booz in 2015.
The actual tree used by the White House came from Booz’s family farm in Montgomery County.

While there is some disagreement as to the exact date, most historians agree that a Christmas tree has stood in the White House since at least 1889, during the presidency of Benjamin Harrison.
