Lansdale's 64th Annual Mardi Gras Parade is Next Month

Santa will make the season's first appearance in Lansdale during the parade.

It’s called a Mardi Gras parade but it kicks off the holiday season in Lansdale. The event, organized by the Lansdale Mardi Gras Parade Committee, will be held Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. on Main Street in Lansdale.

You may be thinking, why is it called a Mardi Gras parade?

According to Lansdale Historical Society, the parade originated in 1950, when a contest was held to name the parade. “Mardi Gras” was chosen and it stuck.
