Lansdale's Founders Day Is This Weekend: Fireworks And More

LANSDALE, PA — After a year off due to the pandemic in 2020, one of Lansdale's most exciting celebrations is just days away.

Founders Day 2021 will be held this Saturday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 2021's event also marks the 50th Anniversary.of the Lansdale Historical Society (and comes just a year ahead of 2022's own benchmark: the borough's 150th birthday).

"Unfortunately, the recent COVID-19 situation has curtailed some of the original celebratory ideas," organizers said in announcing this year's event. "But fortunately our society members are creative people and the Lansdale Founders Day committee is happy to mark this special occasion in a fitting way throughout Founders Day. We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces this Saturday!"

A full schedule of events is included below, according to organizers:

• Festival of the Arts, 10 am - 4 pm, Memorial Park
• Historic Downtown Walking Tour, all day. Take a self-guided tour of downtown Lansdale and see the key role it played in our history. Pick up the guide book at Lansdale Historical Society and take the tour at your pace throughout the day.
• Chamber GMC Health & Wellness Fair, 10 am - 2 pm, Railroad Plaza
• Opening Ceremony/ Lifetime Achievement, 10:15 am, Jenkins Homestead
• Jenkins Homestead Open House, 11 am - 3 pm, Jenkins Avenue
• Model Trains, 11 am - 4 pm, Fairmount Fire Co.
• Open House at District Court with Judge Ed Levine, 11 am-1 p.m, 430 Pennbrook Parkway in Station Square Center
• Beer Garden, 1 pm - 7 pm, Century Plaza Lot
• Cemetery Tour, 1 pm, Lansdale Cemetery
• Live Music Performances, 1 pm - 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm - 7 pm, Century Plaza Lot
• Family Entertainment and Food Festival, 1 pm - 7 pm, Green Street
• White’s Road Park Walking Tour, 2:30 pm, White’s Road Park
• Fireworks, 9 pm, Penndale Middle School
