Local Scouts Support Norristown's Patrician Society in 2016 Scouting for Food Drive
Picture and story on Pack and Troop 303 donating Scouting for Food collection to The Patrician Society in Norristown

Over 40 Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, parents and leaders from Pack and Troop 303, sponsored by Corpus Christi Parish, in Upper Gwynedd, gave up their Saturday morning on November 19, 2016, to collect food donations in the annual Scouting for Food collection (http://colbsa.org/activities-2/scouting-for-food/). Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors, the Scouts collected almost 1600 items of food and other household supplies (a 10% increase over 2015). To support a long-time ministry of Corpus Christi Parish, the chartering organization for both the Pack and the Troop, the food collection was donated to Norristown’s Patrician Society (http://patriciansociety.org/). Committee Chair Joe Rakszawski applauded the Scouts for their effort. Chartered Organization Representative Stan Jaskiewicz, also a Manna on Main Street board member, thanked the Scouts, and explained to them that their efforts helped provide nutritious meals for the many who are “food insecure”, even in such a prosperous suburban neighborhood.
