Longtime Lansdale Man, Deacon, Mechanical Engineer Passes Away At 94

Lansdale's William Drain has passed away at the age of 94.

LANSDALE, PA -- William N. Drain, Jr., 94, of Lansdale, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016. He was the husband of Linda R. (Hoal) Drain and the late Elizabeth A. (Pitcher) Drain, who died February 8, 2001.

Born December 24, 1921 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Grace (Spotts) and William N. Drain, Sr. Mr. Drain was a veteran of the US Army having served his country honorably in Europe during World War II. He was employed as a licensed mechanical engineer for over 50 years, retiring in 1990 from AEL, Colmar, after 43 years.

Bill was a longtime, dedicated member of Montgomery Baptist Church, Montgomeryville, where he served as Deacon, Trustee, and sang in the choir. He also enjoyed singing with the volunteer choir at Peter Becker Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children, Becky Dyck (Rob) of Parker, CO, Brian Jones (Diane) of Britt, IA, and Brenda Whitford (COL Dean) of Fort Bragg, NC; and eight grandchildren, Douglas, Elizabeth, Joylynn, Hannah, Kaitlynn, Emma, Isaiah, and Forrest.

Relatives and friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Montgomery Baptist Church, Richardson Road & Route 309, Montgomeryville, followed by the Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mr. Drain’s memory to Manna on Main Street, PO Box 763, Lansdale, PA 19446. f
