Longtime Montgomery Township Man Dies At 65

Montgomery Township's John M. MacDonald was a beloved family man, master carpenter, and construction manager for years in the area.

LANSDALE, PA — John M. MacDonald, III, age 65, a longtime resident of Montgomery Township passed away on Monday, November 6, with his wife and daughter by his side.

Born in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John M. and Marie E. (nee Head) MacDonald, Jr. He worked as a master carpenter and construction manager for many years.

Mr. MacDonald was an avid golfer and had great affection for his golden retrievers. His greatest love in life was for his family.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Marianne (nee Markey) MacDonald, his cherished daughter, Beth Zehren and her husband Rich of Conshohocken, his dear grandson, Carter, and a beloved sister, Liz Molineaux and her husband, Rick, of Medford, NJ. He also is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Susan Bridgeman.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales (in Montgomery Twp.) 19454, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m., before Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley, 399 Market St., #102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or online at www.alz.org.
