Longtime Montgomeryville Man, World War II Veteran, Passes At 93

Robert A. Dawson, Jr., 93, of Glenside, formerly of Montgomeryville, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016. He was the loving husband of Elverna K. (Dewitt) Dawson.

Born September 13, 1923, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Robert A. Dawson, Jr and Orpah M. (Fawkes) Dawson.

Bob was employed as a service dispatcher for many years who loved renovations and church projects. He also was a dedicated WW II Army veteran, and a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church, Montgomeryville.

His survivors include two children, Mark W. Dawson (Janice), Huntingdon Valley, and Linda Smeltzer, Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Thomas, Vanessa, Steven and Jennifer and five great grandchildren.

Predeceased by a daughter Patricia Bregenzer.

There will be a viewing starting 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church, 615 Cowpath Rd., Montgomeryville, PA 19446, with the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
