Man Stole Thong Underwear, $480 in Merchandise from Hatfield Kohl's: Report

A man reportedly stolen $482.91 in merchandise from the Hatfield Kohl's store, including eight pairs of Maidenform thong underwear.

Hatfield police have arrested a man who stole numerous pairs of women's thong underwear from the Kohl's in the township, according to a report.

According to The Reporter, 53-year-old Upper Frederick resident John Henry Sarau exited the Kohl's on Welsh Road on October 9 with two duffel bags full of merchandise.

Court documents show that Sarau has an extensive history of convictions in retail theft-related cases.

Kohl's told police that eight pairs of Maidenform thong underwear had been taken by Sarau, in addition to bath towels, slippers, a pair of Nikes, and more, the report states. The price of the stolen items amounted to $482.91.

Authorities did not say if that price was calculated before or after the Kohl's discount was applied.

An employee was able to get a partial license plate of Sarau's getaway truck and he was arrested shortly thereafter, the report states.

Sarau has waived his preliminary hearing and is awaiting arraignment.
