Manhunt Underway For Lansdale Teen Charged With Attempted Murder: Cops

Cops are searching for a Lansdale teenager who has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of an acquaintance.

LANSDALE, PA — A Lansdale teenager is wanted for attempted murder after shooting someone he knew multiple times last week, according to Hatfield Police.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Jan. 19, police said. J'Mel Anthony Duran-Taylor, 16, allegedly shot the 19-year-old victim in a parking lot on the 2000 block of Maple Avenue in Hatfield.

Police said that the incident was not a "random act" of violence as the two knew each other, but a specific motive is not yet known.

The victim was taken to Abington-Lansdale Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment for his injuries.

Duran-Taylor resided on the 800 block of Wedgewood Drive in Lansdale but has since fled the area, authorities said.

Police think he may be in the Harrisburg area.

He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, attempted robbery and related counts.

Duran-Taylor is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 185 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
