Massive Food Security Warehouse Holds Grand Opening In Lansdale
Officials hailed "a major step toward ending food insecurity in Montgomery County."
LANSDALE, PA — A major initiative to fight food insecurity in Montgomery County took a significant step forward on Thursday as they opened a new warehouse and distribution center in Lansdale.
The Share Food Program's new 27,000-square-foot warehouse, located on 1111 N. Broad Street, gives the organization a central hub for their work, including providing emergency assistance food, senior food boxes, school lunches, and rescued food.
"It was such a pleasure to welcome them to our community and celebrate neighbors helping neighbors," State Rep. Steve Malagari said Thursday following the event. "Together, we've come one step closer to ending hunger in our community."

Officials say the new hub will improve the efficiency and reach of the Share Food Program, which feeds some 55,000 low income families, children, and seniors in the region.
"While Share has long served Montgomery County, this new facility is our organization’s first dedicated food distribution hub in the county and marks a significant step forward in our fight against hunger in this region," the organization said in a statement.
