Join us for a 5k cross country run or 1 mile walk in memory of Joe Moody and help raise money for scholarships and cancer support. Joe Moody was a beloved husband and father of three (ages 2-11) when he was taken away by melanoma at the young age of 43. Joe was a teacher at Central Bucks South High School and an active coach in the Montgomery Township youth athletic leagues. He was well respected by friends, colleagues, family and students alike. He fought this terrible disease with dignity, strength and grace before finally succumbing on May 7, 2012. The Joe Moody Foundation was formed in 2013 with three objectives in mind: 1) to give back to the community that so graciously took care of Joe and his family through annual scholarship programs at Central Bucks South High School and North Penn High School; 2) to help other young families on their cancer journey by contributing to For Pete’s Sake cancer respite organization; 3) to help fund melanoma research at the Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Awards will be given out to top overall and age group winners in the 5k run. Cost is $30 for the 5k run and $20 for the 1 mile fun walk.
