Montco Hospitals Largely Absent From Latest 'World's Best' Ranking

While Pennsylvania was well-represented at the top of the list, many local facilities were left off.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — While dozens of Pennsylvania hospitals were recognized in the latest round of Newsweek's analysis of the top healthcare facilities around the globe, most of the Montgomery County area's hospitals were absent from the list.

The "World’s Best Hospitals" ranking featured 420 hospitals in the United States, including 27 in Pennsylvania alone. While the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at Penn Presbyterian was 15th overall, only Lankenau Medical Center (168th) and Jefferson Abington Hospital (377) made the list of 420.

Newsweek partnered with data firm Statista to release the fifth year of this list. The outlet says the hospitals chosen “consistently attract the best people and provide the best outcomes for patients as well as the most important new therapies and research."
