HATFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Two teenagers who were speeding well above the limit before a fatal Montgomery County crash last year that left one woman dead have pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

Aidan Jarrett, 19, of Quakertown, and Evan Buckman, 19, of Pennsburg, had been charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, illegal racing, and reckless driving.

They will now stand trial before a jury at some point in the coming months. The exact trial date has not yet been set, court documents indicate.

The speed limit was 55 miles per hour.

The victim, 62-year-old Ida Lillo, of Hatfield, was driving her silver Nissan north on Bethlehem Pike when she started to turn onto Bergey Road.

That's when Jarrett's Mitsubishi, racing Buckman's yellow Nissan in the southbound lanes of Bethlehem Pike, slammed into her, police said.

Both Jarrett and Buckman turned themselves in to police on Monday.

Lillo was a mother of two and grandmother of two, according to her obituary. A GoFundMe has been launched to support her family.

"Ida was such a wonderful , kind person who would help anyone," family member Jackie Pitmanwrote in the fundraiser. "She loved her family with all her heart, especially her grandchildren."

Both teens posted $50,000 bail and were ordered to not drive.
