Montgomery Twp. Installs More Automated Enforcement Cameras

Cameras will help track reckless driving and speeding vehicles around the area.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — New automated red light enforcement cameras have been installed in Montgomery Township, authorities said, as efforts to catch violators take a new step forward.

The cameras are located on Horsham Road at Stump Road in both the eastbound and westbound directions. They will go live just after midnight on Monday, Jan. 19.

PennDOT has also installed "No Turn on Red" signs on Horsham Road in both directions.

This marks the third intersection in the township to get automated traffic cameras installed, a response to reckless driving and high rates of speeding. Other cameras are located on Route 202 at Horsham road and Bethlehem Pike at North Wales Road.

Violators will receive a written warning for the first 30 days. Starting in mid-February, violations will be sent to an officer to be validated, and a civil citation will be sent to the vehicle owner, officials said.
