North Penn Administrator To Speak At National Education Event

The North Penn official will have a major guest speaking role at the conference.

Discovery Education is inviting local superintendents and curriculum leaders to attend a unique professional learning event on Thursday, January 28 exploring critical topics in education leadership, they announced in a press release Thursday.

Entitled Powerful Practices: The Instructional Leadership Experience, this event will explore critical topics in education including equity, personalized learning, formative assessment, culturally responsive classrooms, and student engagement.

Designed especially for public and private school instructional leaders interested in moving their schools to best practice, this no-cost, one-day experience will feature guest speaker Dr. Toni Butz, Director of Curriculum, North Penn School District.

Butz will serve as a guest speaker during a panel discussion focused on digital teaching and learning. Entitled Powerful Practices: The Instructional Leadership Experience, this event will explore critical topics in education including equity, personalized learning, formative assessment, culturally responsive classrooms, and student engagement.

There will also be a keynote address from Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski, President of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Hrabowski is a national leader in science and math education and an expert on closing opportunity gaps. Additionally, attendees will hear from regional colleagues during a panel discussion focused on digital teaching and learning, participate in interactive breakout sessions, and engage in numerous networking opportunities.

Panelists include Dr. Sybil Knight-Burney, Superintendent, Harrisburg School District; Dr. Steve Gerhard, Superintendent, Governor Mifflin School District; and Dr. Toni Butz, Director of Curriculum, North Penn School District.
