North Penn Chemistry Teacher Allegedly Sent Lewd Photos to Student

A North Penn High School teacher and Lansdale resident has been charged with corruption of minors for allegedly sending lewd photos to a female student last year.

According to a statement issued by school officials, the investigation began in June after high school staff contacted police when the victim told one of them about the allegations.

Due to the police investigation, Gibson was suspended before the start of the school year.
Gibson had worked for the district since 2008, according to information from North Penn officials. He was also an assistant coach of the boys’ water polo team.

“Student safety is a top priority of the North Penn School District. Staff and students are commended for reporting and acting upon this serious issue. Pennsylvania law dictates that any individual found guilty of this offense would be prohibited from employment in either public or private schools in the Commonwealth,” North Penn officials said in a statement.
