As the official 2019 anthem, the song will be played at locations around the country for the Women's March on Saturday.

LANSDALE, PA — A recent North Penn graduate's song has been chosen as the official anthem of the 2019 Women's March.

The powerful "Halfway There" is performed by 2011 graduate Liz Mencel (ROZES).

The song, and Mencel, were even featured recently in Bustle.

"I wanted "Halfway There" to be like a fight song a little bit and about how acknowledging the battle and being thrown into it is essentially your halfway mark, and then fighting it is the next half," Mencel told the outlet. "It ended up being about women's empowerment — and empowerment in general — because it started to feel like the fight was mine while I was writing it. It could be relatable to anybody."

The song will be played around the country on Saturday, Jan. 19 during various Women's Marches.
