North Penn Homecoming King Featured In Autism Documentary

Ben Hartranft, the "mayor of North Penn," was featured in a recent documentary on autism.

LANSDALE, PA — Ben Hartranft has done some incredible work raising awareness for autism.

In the fall of 2016, the "mayor of North Penn," as he was known, was named homecoming king.

In February, he began research work on autism with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Then, in March, he volunteered for the Philadelphia Eagles' Huddle Up For Autism event.

Now, Hartranft's life will be the focus of a documentary that aired on Dec. 23 on NBC10, according to the North Penn School District. The documentary focuses on how Hartranft goes through his daily life with autism.

“We are really proud of him for everything that he does," Ben's mother, Sandy Hartranft, told The Knight Crier, North Penn's student newspaper. "Especially with the research he does at CHOP, he really enjoys doing that and it is the avenue that made the rest of this come to be. It’s been exciting to see how hard Ben has worked and all of the things he has been able to accomplish."
