North Penn scored 97.6, which is in the second highest grouping of scores, trailing only the “100 or greater” category.

“Pennsylvania students are working toward college and career readiness, and posting School Performance Profile scores for schools with an 11th grade demonstrates school-level results in meeting that standard,” Education Secretary Pedro A. Rivera said in a press release.

While the SPP is a mixture of many factors, it relies heavily upon state assessment scores. It also includes college readiness tests, graduation and attendance rates, and number of rigorous courses, among other things.

The score is based out of 100, but a score higher than 100 is possible for schools with excellent AP test scores.

North Penn scored a 100 on several sub-categories, including “Indicators of Academic Growth” in Literature and Science. They also scored 100 on all sub-categories of “Indicators of Closing the Achievement Gap.”

Elsewhere in Montgomery County, Lower Merion High School scored 82.5, Conestoga scored 83.7, and Harriton High School scored 98.8.

North Penn’s academic score is up a few points from 2014, when they achieved a 93.6.
