North Penn High School was ranked 50th in Pennsylvania in a new list released by U.S. News and World Report.
The annual rankings analyze four key metrics for each school: student-to-teacher ratio, average student proficiency in mathematics, average student proficiency in literature, and college readiness score.

The readiness score judges a school’s AP exams and results. This scale was a boost for North Penn, which scored a 28.6, above the Pennsylvania average.
North Penn, which educates 3,072 students, was also buoyed by an 88 percent proficiency rating in literature.

The school ranked 1,694th in the nation. Over 21,000 schools from around the United States were included in the report.
The top area school was New Hope-Solebury High School, which ranked second in the state and 210th nationally.
