North Penn Inclement Weather Information

LANSDALE, PA -- With talk of a potentially significant winter storm headed for the Mid-Atlantic this week, here’s a look at the North Penn School District’s snow day provisions and inclement weather procedures:

Decisions on rescheduling snow days will be made by April 1.

The last day of school is tentatively scheduled for June 10.

If the district needs more than three snow days, the extra days may come off spring break, the district calendar says.

If there is a delayed opening, schools will open two hours late. Early dismissal is 11:45 a.m.

The NPSD website and NPSD Facebook and Twitter will make important announcements regarding closings and weather.

Individuals can also listen to KYW 1060AM for number 303, which is the KYW Storm Center’s code for the 18 schools in NPSD. Lansdale’s radio station, WNPV 1440AM, does not use the identification system, preferring to read the full list of closings.

For text notification alerts, individuals can sign up for alerts at Montgomery County Alert System at https://montco.alertpa.org and select North Penn School District as a notification.

For parents of kindergarten students, the following information applies:

• In the event of a 1 hour delayed start, AM Kindergarten students will arrive one hour late with all other elementary level students and be dismissed at their normal time. PM Kindergarten students will follow their normal schedule for transportation and arrival to school.
• In the event of a 2 hour delayed start at BP & WF, AM Kindergarten will report from 10:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. PM Kindergarten will report from 1:10 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (PM Bus pick-up times will be one hour later than normally scheduled)
• In the event of a 2 hour delayed start at All other Elementary Schools, AM Kindergarten will report from 11:10a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and PM Kindergarten will report from 1:50 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.
