North Penn Named Among Nation's Best Communities For Music Education
North Penn was once again named among the nation's best.
LANSDALE, PA — The North Penn School District has once again been honored with a prestigious award recognizing its music education program.
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation designated North Penn among its "Best Communities for Music Education" for 2023. It's the 11th year in a row the district has won the award, and the 12th overall.
The program began in 1999.

“Music and arts education are a priority at North Penn and that is reflected in the excellent musicians within our district,” North Penn Todd Bauer said in a statement. “This award is a testament to the outstanding educators in our district that give each student the opportunity to explore and learn.”
According to the NAMM Foundation, the award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.

In order to qualify for the award, schools must provide information regarding funding, graduation requirements, facilities, participation in music classes, and more.
The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas reviews all submissions.
