North Penn Offering Free Summer Meals To All Local Children

All children can receive a free summer lunch at North Penn this summer

LANSDALE, PA — The North Penn School District is offering free summer meals to all children in the North Penn School District.

The program is a partnership between Manna on Main Street and the US Department of Agriculture, and aims to ensure no child goes hungry while school is out for the summer.

According to the school district, more than 30 percent of North Penn students receive free or reduced price meals during the school year, while three North Penn elementary schools have more than 50 percent of their student bodies enrolled in the program.

The North Penn mobile meal van will be delivering lunches through Aug. 16 at the following locations, Monday through Friday:

  • Hatfield Community Park, 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Oak Park Elementary, 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Knapp Elementary School, 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Whites Road Park, 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The summer meal program began in 2014.
