North Penn Senior Named $20K Scholarship Finalist

LANSDALE, PA — A North Penn senior has been named a finalist in a $20,000 scholarship.

Billy Wermuth will move on to the next round of the selection process in the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholars program, the school district announced.

He's one of just 251 students who have made it to the final phase, out of nearly 1,900 applicants.

Wermuth was chosen for his "positive impact on the community." A total of 12 students from Pennsylvania were selected.

More than 6,000 students have received a total of $69 million in scholarships in the 31 years of the program.
