North Penn's Billy Wermuth has been recognized as one of the nation's most outstanding high school students.

LANSDALE, PA — North Penn's Billy Wermuth has been recognized as one of the nation's most outstanding high school students, as he's won a large and highly competitive scholarship.
Billy Wermuth was named a Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship winner, earning a $20,000 scholarship to the school of his choice.
He's one of just 251 students who have made it to the final phase, out of nearly 1,900 applicants.

From that group, just 150 students received the scholarship.
Wermuth was chosen for his "positive impact on the community." A total of 12 students from Pennsylvania were selected in the group of 251.

More than 6,000 students have received a total of $69 million in scholarships in the 31 years of the program.
