LANSDALE, PA — A North Penn High School swimming star has been named to the national team for an upcoming competition.

Rising senior Sean Faikish, class of 2020, was selected for USA Swimming's World Junior Team.

He will head over to Europe later this month to compete in the meet in Budapest, Hungary.

Faikish was selected based on his recent performance in the finals at the Phillips 66 National Championships at Stanford University.

Faikish led North Penn to a second place overall team finish at the 2019 PIAA 3A state championships in 2019. He won the individual title in the 200 IM.

The local star will aim to compete in the USA 2020 Olympic Trials, which will be held early next summer in Omaha, Nebraska.
