One Dead After Montgomery Township Crash

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Montgomery Township Monday morning, police said.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — A pedestrian was struck and killed in an accident in Montgomery Township on Monday morning, police said. It was one of two such incidents in the area on Monday.

The crash occurred at 5:12 a.m. near the intersection of Horsham and North Wales roads, police said.

A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was driving on Horsham Road when it struck the pedestrian, a 50-year-old male, killing him, authorities said.

The accident is under investigation and the name of the victim has not been released. There was also a fatal accident in Hatfield early Monday morning, which had a very similar set of circumstances.

The Montgomery Township Police Department Highway Safety Unit, Montgomery County Detectives, Volunteer Medical Services of Lansdale, the Fire Police from the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, and the Fairmont Fire Company Fire Police all responded to the scene.
