Today I am grateful I met Peter Pan! Not only did I meet Peter, but I had the opportunity to enjoy a day under the pines in his Never-Never Land of Lost Boys!
We were invited to the most amazing day of music, food and fun under the pine trees, by a friend of mine on Facebook, whom I had never met. Talk about Kismet. If it had been as hot and humid as the day before we wouldn’t have gone. The weather cooperated and the shade was as abundant as the food and entertainment.

But the location is what blew me out of the water! We twisted and twined through country roads with odd directions until we finally found the road, but buzzed right past the address. I expected to see a park or meadow, but this was just a nice house. When I turned in the driveway I wasn’t at all sure I was at the right place. “Someone will be there to help you park.” I was told by my new friend.
We drove past the house, following the path of mushed grass from tires before us and parked the car in the middle of Never-Never Land. You had to look very hard to see all of the magic and wonder. In front of us was a long slide buried into the trees. A little further on was a tee-pee made out of trees. . .not branches, mind you. Trees! Piled around a center tree. Fantastic.

Poking alone the crunchy pine needles a little further. . .and looking up. . .always looking up, were platforms and large pads to jump off of them onto, and a climbing tower with a zip line connected to it. A four-wheeler collected the zippers from another woods below and dragged them back to start. Awesome.
It was eye candy for the appreciative adult and the Land of Lost Boys (and girls) for adventurous kids. I wish my grandkids could have been there to enjoy this place. Deeper into the yard was a trampoline level with the ground and another small one to send you to it.
Who has a full-flush toilet and fridge in the middle of their yard? These folks do! Admission was a dish for the table. With a hundred people in attendance at any given moment, there was barely room to set the abundance of food. Bubba Burgers and hotdogs occupied the grill and the hosts tended to every necessary detail for a successful gig. . .without once getting rattled. Amazing.
After meeting my friend, he introduced us to the host of the event. “You’re Peter Pan!” I said. “Yes I am! Welcome to Never Land!” he said without missing a beat. Outstanding people. Unbelievable music. And an all-around perfect day. . .in the Land of Lost Boys. . . who were found!
